Richard Burr was sworn-in on January 4, 2005
to serve North Carolina in the United Sates Senate. 
He was elected in 1994 to the House of Representatives and established a reputation for restoring accountability to the federal government.
Senator Burr and his wife, Brooke, have two sons.
